Psychological Testing & Evaluations
Psychological testing can help provide clarity when symptoms, behaviors, learning challenges, medical concerns, or life circumstances require a more complete understanding. At Total Health & Wellness Associates, PLLC, our providers offer psychological, neuropsychological, bariatric, and pain-related evaluations for children, teens, and adults.
Our team works with clients, families, physicians, surgeons, schools, and other healthcare providers when appropriate to help ensure that evaluation results are useful, understandable, and connected to the client’s broader care needs.

Neuropsychological Evaluations
Neuropsychological evaluations provide a fuller assessment of cognitive and psychological functioning for children, teens, and adults. These evaluations help identify areas of strength and difficulty and may be recommended when there are concerns related to attention, learning, memory, brain injury, neurological changes, or emotional functioning.
Full assessments may require up to eight hours of face-to-face time with the examiner, depending on the nature of the referral and the type of information needed.
Common reasons for referral include:
- ADHD
- Learning disabilities
- Traumatic brain injury or concussion
- Dementia or memory concerns
- Chronic pain conditions with associated psychological factors
We also conduct independent medical evaluations, which may include a review of medical records from multiple healthcare specialties. This allows recommendations to take into account both physical and psychological health.
Bariatric Evaluations
We collaborate with many bariatric surgical centers and independent surgeons to provide pre-surgical bariatric psychological evaluations that follow national guidelines.
Our therapists are also trained to provide pre- and post-surgical psychotherapy services to support long-term success with lifestyle change, weight management, and mental health concerns when appropriate.

Pain & Controlled Substance Evaluations
We collaborate with primary care providers, physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, and addiction medicine providers to offer psychological evaluations when needed before certain procedures, device implantation, or prescription of medications, including controlled substances.
Our therapists are also trained to provide concurrent psychotherapy services to support short- and long-term success with pain management in conjunction with medications, other interventions, or in place of medication when desired.
