I was recently asked to consider what I would share if I was giving my last lecture. The “assignment” seemed overwhelming at first. I sat thinking… thinking… thinking… and I felt stumped. Then, when I moved out of my mind and into my body — into my “felt sense,” if you will — the message seemed to flow. It became more of a poem, as opposed a last lecture. Nonetheless, the message seems worth sharing. So here goes:
Regrets. Avoid them.
Choose YOU first. Every. Single. Time.
Be honest with yourself and with others.
Do what you are passionate about.
Learn. Grow. Never stop being curious.
LIVE!
Design a life that is your OWN.
Earn a living doing what lights your soul on fire. … It won’t feel like work.
Build a relationship with yourself that won’t leave you feeling lonely when no one else is around.
Develop meaningful relationships.
Travel.
Connect with nature.
Don’t settle.
Live a life on purpose.
